(drive your mouse over the picture – if you move the mouse pointer the picture will start to move)
The PRAGUE CITY LINE Prague 3 is a tourist nature trail through Prague 3. The trail forms an integrated circuit which will guide you through this town district and introduce the most interesting places, landmarks, specific history of Prague 3 and Prague´s Žižkov to you.
Praha 3 and Žižkov in particular are unique places. Žižkov used to be a working-class district and its inhabitans followed their own laws and rules. Žižkov has always had its own atmosphere and life. Walk with us and perhaps you will experience the atmosphere yourself. You will return to the times of Fešák Hubert (Pretty Hubert) or you may also see the police chief Vacátko solving a safecracking or meet the authentic žižkovský Pepík (Žižkov Joe) on your way.
On the track you will be guided by our map. It will help you schedule which way to go, how long the trip will take you and what interesting places are waiting for you.
The extensive photogallery will enable you to get the entire picture of the trail in advance. We advise you to start in Jiřího z Poděbrad square and make for the centre of Žižkov. After a while you will see the Prague´s highest construction – Žižkov Television Tower, further you will visit interesting parks and at the end of the trail one of the greatest world´s equestrian statues – the statue of Jan Žižka of Trocnov – will be waiting for you. Praha 3 offers a different but no less interesting view of the „Mother of Cities“ – Prague.
The trail is described by means of articles. By clicking on the articles which are ordered below on this site you will get to the menu of the given place. Here you can find the description of the place, photogallery and a map of the whole track.
At the end of May it will be possible to download a free printable guidebook of Prague 3 and Žižkov.
We wish you plenty of adventures on your wanderings through Prague 3 and discover Žižkov on your own.

The construction was performed in place of the former oldest synagogue called The Old School or „Templ“ which according to the extant historical sources existed already in the 12th century. It was called „school“ because the synagogues used to serve as educational institutes for the inhabitans of the Jewish community. » More »
