Exhibition – Path of the life of Rabbi Löw

The year 2009 marks the 400th anniversary of the renowned rabbi`s death, also known as the Prague Maharal. The spiritual, pedagogic and philosophical legacy of this scholar remains a lively inspiration to this day. This exhibition traces the Maharal`s life and work and examines the image of this scholar in the eyes of his contemporaries and succeeding generations. The exhibition features two main parts: The first will focus on the historical Maharal and the authentic traditions connected with him, while the second will look at the Maharal`s legacy and the origin of the legends that are linked to his name. The exhibition also documents the development of the Prague Ghetto and the Jewish cemetery during the lifetime of Rabbi Loew.
