The jaguar is a symbol of the sun and a constant feature of the myths and shamanic rites of the original inhabitants of Venezuela, Columbia, Brazil, Peru and Ecuador. The exhibition acquaints visitors with the life of the native inhabitants and ethnic groups of the Amazon region, as well as their spiritual world, in which religious ideas and myths blended with everyday life, being inseparably connected with the person of the shaman. The display is supplemented by contemporary photographs of several ethnic groups from the Amazon region, whose lifestyle and material and spiritual culture have been gradually changing under the influence of Western civilization and what it brings.
